What to Expect at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance

With such fanfare and anticipation, there are many who view the Concours d’Elegance as the end all be all in automotive shows. So how did the Pebble Beach Concours d’ Elegance come to pass? 

Originally founded in 1950, the event was developed as a secondary part of the Pebble Beach Road Race, sponsored by the Sports Car Club of America. The first Concours d’Elegance was held on November 4th, 1950, and spotlighted 30 vehicles. That year, the “Best of Show” was the Edwards R-26 Special Sport Roadster.

In the years since its inception, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance has been the showcase for some of the most stylish new and concept cars. Among the most prominent manufacturers that have participated are:
